Scarification, in botany, involves cutting the seed coat using abrasion, thermal stress, or chemicals to encourage germination. In alternative contexts scarification may refer to the cutting of concrete using hydrodemolition, or as a permanent body modification, etching designs, pictures, or words into the skin.Contents1 In botany 2 In gardening 3 In construction 4 Anatomical modification 4.1 History 4.2 Reasons 4.3 Methods 4.3.1 Branding 4.3.2 Cutting 4.3.3 Abrasion 4.4 Healing 4.5 Dangers/cautions 5 Line note references 6 External links // In botanyScarification is a natural process important for germination of many species' seeds. This process involves the breaching of the natural seed coating by mechanical, thermal or microbial methods. While this process occurs naturally in the wild, humans have developed techniques to emulate the natural processes for some seeds used in cultivation. In the case of chaparral plant communities, many species' seeds require fire scarification to achieve germination; an exception to that phenomenon is Western poison oak, whose thick seed coatings provide a time delayed effect for germination, but do not require fire scarification. In gardeningScarification or de-thatching of lawns or turf is a mechanical process whereby the surface and subsurface of the lawn, green or sports pitch is rigorously abraded by penetrating metal blades, tines or prongs. The process is usually carried out by machines of a professional standard which are normally powered by petrol engines. Smaller, less rigorous electric machines are also available for the domestic market. The process of scarifying is designed to remove thatch from lawns. Thatch is a build up of organic matter that can stifle the growth and health of grass or turf. Removing the thatch helps the grass by encouraging it to thicken up and also makes it stronger and less susceptible to disease. Reducing thatch levels increases the levels of water, air and nutrients that can get through to the root zone of the grass plants. Significant thatch problems in lawns can cause diseases and encourages moss to grow in the areas where grass has died. A by product of scarifying or de-thatching is that moss is also removed and depending on how deep the scarifying blades are set, root cutting can also occur and this in turn also helps grass to thicken up over time. Scarifying is normally carried out in autumn or spring. When scarifying or de-thatching not all thatch should be removed as a small amount of thatch is beneficial to the lawn. A lawn that has excessive thatch may feel spongy when trod upon.In constructionScarification of concrete can be done using hydrodemolition, or hydro scarification, and high speed scarification. The depth of removal depends on the application, but usually does not exceed 1/4" to 3/4". The use of scarification on concrete is used to provide a better bond profile with an overlay of the same material. Scarification sometimes follows an initial milling of a surface using a large mechanical grinder. The hydro scarification following this process can have the effect of eliminating micro-fractures produced by the impact of the milling machine. The absence of micro-fractures and the creation of a better bond profile, both help to create a better bond strength with the concrete overlay.Anatomical modificationSee also: Body modificationIn the process of body scarification, scars are formed by cutting or branding the skin. Scarification is sometimes called cicatrization (from the French equivalent).HistoryAn initiation ceremony located in Korogo Village, Sepik River, Papua New Guinea, 1975Scarification has been used for many reasons in many different cultures:Scarification has been used as a rite of passage in adolescence, or to denote the emotional state of the wearer of the scars, such as times of sorrow or well-being. This is common among Australian Aboriginal and Sepik River tribes in New Guinea, amongst others.[verification needed] Scarification by deliberately burning skin is called branding and has historically been used to mark slaves and criminals, usually with the brand being visible and often letter-coded to reflect the crime. The M?ori of New Zealand used a form of ink rubbing scarification to produce facial tattoos known as "moko." Moko were considered to make the body complete as M?ori bodies were considered to be naked without these marks. Moko were unique to each person and served as a sort of signature. Some M?ori chiefs even used the pattern of their moko as their signatures on land treaties with Europeans. They were derived by their father's moko/moku on the left of the face, the...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about lead acid machinery, chemical mixer machine, . Most of the information about the administration and government under the early Pandyas comes to use through Sangam literature.Contents1 The King and his court 2 Administration 3 Judicial system 4 Military and Warfare 5 Revenue and expenditure 6 References 7 Notes // The King and his courtThe head of the Government was the king, a hereditary monarch, who ruled with unaided discretion. The ascension to the throne was normally hereditary, sometimes through usurpation and occasionally based on unusual methods of choosing a king such as sending out the royal elephant to select a person of its choice by garlanding them. The king could be crowned at any age and reigned as long as he chose to or lived. He was highly revered by his subjects and was even equated to God. The king, in turn, had onerous duties towards his subjects and was held responsible for any misfortune that befell them. The dynastic emblem of the Pandyas was the double carp, which was used for all official purposes of royal authentication. Coins issued by the kings, seals on letters as well as exported and imported cargo stocked in the ware houses at ports bore this emblem. The king court consisted of royal officers like the ministers, generals, commanders and accountants. His power was restricted by the Aimberunguzhu (Tamil: ?????????????) or the Five Great Assemblies. They consisted of the representatives of the people, priests, physicians, astrologers and the ministers. The council of representatives (Maasanam, Tamil: ??????) safeguarded the rights and privileges of the people; the priests (Paarpar, Tamil: ??????????) directed all religious ceremonies; the physicians (Maruthar, Tamil: ????????) attended to all matters affecting the health of the king and his subjects; the astrologers (Nimithar, Tamil: ?????????) fixed auspicious times for public ceremonies and predicted important events; the ministers (Amaichar, Tamil: ????????) attended to the collection of revenue and expenditure and also the administration of justice. There was another assembly of officials that served the king called the Enberaayam (Tamil: ??????????) or the Eight Groups of Attendants. While some scholars believe it consisted of attendants on the king person like the perfumers, dressing valets, etc., others believe it consisted of more important persons like the people of the capital city, the leaders of the elephant corps and of the cavalry. The principal officers of State were the high priest, the chief astrologer, the ministers and the commanders of the army.AdministrationThe king divided his territory into a number of administrative units or principalities, each called a Koorram (Tamil: ???????). A Koorram was further divided into provinces called Mandalam, which in turn was divided into many sub-provinces called Nadus, with each Nadu consisting of many villages. A locality inside a town or village was called Ur and each neighborhood inside an Ur was called a Cheri. While the king ruled over his entire territory from the capital, he often placed one or more principalities (Koorram) under the near-sovereign government of some senior member of the royal family or a feudatary. The Cilappatikaram mentions that while Nedunj Cheliyan I ruled from Madurai, his younger brother was placed in charge of the Korkai principality. The villages that come under a principality, were each governed by the elders in the respective villages, almost autonomously. This arrangement can be roughly equated to a central government (the king), under which operated a set of feudal governments (the principalities), which in turn oversaw the local governments (the villages).Madurai, the capital city from which the king ran the central government, was large, populous and prosperous. It had a simple police and sanitation system wherein the watchmen walked the streets, lamp in hand. The streets were kept clean by fresh sand being laid, thereon. Separate cheris existed for different sections of the society like the priests, merchants etc. Hospitals and educational institutions were setup by royal order or the philanthropy of the wealthy. The village was the most fundamental unit of administration under the Pandyas. The affairs of a village were the responsibility of its elders, who were not elected but were recognized and appointed based on...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about glass kerosene lamps, LED Desk Lamp, . The entrance to Camp Yawgoog

The Kelley Environmental Education Center
In 1916 Scout Executive Donald North, after inspecting some twenty lakes in Rhode Island, recommended the deserted Joseph Palmer farm property on Yawgoog Pond as a permanent reservation for Scouting. The 150-acre (0.6km2) piece was leased to Rhode Island Boy Scouts (RIBS) in 1916 and purchased in 1917. Yawgoog and Wincheck, according to local tradition, were the names of two Narragansett Indian Chiefs. The water rights to the pond, all of their equipment, fourteen mill houses, a store, and approximately 200-acre (1km2) of unimproved land were obtained in 1953 when the Boy Scouts purchased a controlling interest in the Yawgo Line and Twine Company. [2] The reservation continues to be separately owned by RIBS even after its acquisition by BSA. Chief Yawgoog serves as the mascot for the camp. He is usually portrayed in a cartoon, shirtless, wearing leather Indian trousers and mocassins, smoking a calumet, holding a canoe over himself and appears as if he is about to set off canoeing.
Yawgoog is also responsible for creating the first Totin' Chip program. John Page, nicknamed "Johnny Appleseed," created the program in 1950. Six years later, in 1956, the Apprentice in Training (AIT) program was started in an effort to better train incoming staffmen. The AIT corps, the first of its kind, was later renamed the Counselor in Training (CIT) corps and set the standard for subsequent programs across the country. [3]
The reservation is divided into three distinct camps. Each camp operates independently and has a dining hall, waterfront, and trading post. Originally, however, Yawgoog campers set up tents as part of one centralized camp on what is now Tim O'Neil Field. In 1924, Yawgoog was divided between Upper Camp and Lower Camp, and three camps eventually emerged. Yawgoog is normally active during the summer for eight weeks of operation. During the off season tent camping is allowed at various campgrounds and cabin camping is allowed in any of the four cabins available. These spaces are available for troops who wish perform outdoor events when summer camp is not in session.
Landscape

The Ashaway Aquatics Center
Yawgoog is located in the southwestern corner of Rhode Islandhe closest town Hopkinton, RI, which sits at 41.44N -71.79W. The terrain of the reservation is fairly flat, with only one hill (Hill 407) located in the southwestern corner of the reservation. Most of the reservation is forested and consists of deciduous and evergreen trees. On May 4-6, 1930, the camp suffered a forest fire. Much of the forest was destroyed and subsequently replaced with white pines due to their ability to grow quickly. Remnants of the fire are unnoticeable today. There are several islands on Yawgoog Pond, the largest named King Phillips.[citation needed] Flushable toilets are currently being installed, first at Medicine Bow, then Three Point, and finally at Sandy Beach. Moreover, for 2008, the Yawgoog Alumni Association hopes to raise enough funds to replace each camps' amphitheater as well as replacing the aging the single shot riffles[4]
The following are some notable places at Yawgoog: The George Bucklin Memorial (a replica of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police barracks; administration), The Donald North Court, The Yawgoog Heritage Center (contains artifacts from throughout Yawgoog's history), Tim O'Neill Field (has large flagpole that serves in a dress parade every Sunday at the conclusion of each week of camp), the three camp waterfronts (each having three swimming zones: 0 to 3-foot (91cm), 3-foot (91cm) to 7-foot (213cm), 7-foot (213cm) to 12-foot (366cm)), and the A. Some claim[who?] that inventor James E. Winner Jr. derived the idea for the device from his service in the Korean War, where he and his fellow soldiers were instructed to secure the steering wheels of their Jeeps with metal chains.DesignThe device consists of two pieces which, when locked together, form one long, fixed bar with two protruding hooks opening towards the ends of the bar. Each piece has one hook, intended to fit around the rim of the steering wheel. The smaller of the two pieces fits inside the larger piece and slides in and out for sizing. When the lock is set, the larger piece's long handle protrudes out, so that the wheel is practically impossible to turn due to collision with other parts of the car or with the driver's legs, and the device cannot be removed because it is too large to slip around the wheel. To remove the device, the user unlocks the central bar, and slides the pieces together so that the hooks no longer surround the rim of the wheel; this allows it to slip out, freeing the wheel.WeaknessesThe Club as originally designed was prone to having its lock shattered by freezing with freon; later models addressed this issue by changing to a chromium/molybdenum alloy. A television broadcast test showed that this form of attack now took several minutes of hammering, in addition to the requirement of a source of freon (now largely a controlled substance)[citation needed]. The most grievous flaw in the design is inherent in the modern construction of steering wheels; thieves can defeat this type of lock by cutting away part of the steering wheel's rim, allowing the device to be removed regardless of its state. This does, however, require access to a hacksaw or other cutting tool, and ruins the steering wheel (which may in some cases have resale value).Recently, a device called "The Buster" has been designed for locksmiths. It is a big screw with a hook on one end and a large handle on the other and two legs designed to rest on the lock. It breaks steering wheel locks such as the Club by hooking onto the lock and tightening the screw with the handle. The large handle provides mechanical advantage, concentrating the force applied by the hook and eventually forcing the lock to fold in half or snap in two.Pop referencesIn an episode of Futurama Leela uses The Club to secure their Planet Express rocket ship. I want to introduct something about Presses Steel Bearing Housing(PP,PF,PFT,PFL). ***Presses Steel Bearing Housing*** ***PP200,PF200,PFT200,PFL200 Series*** ***All of the products are according to international standar (Redirected from Pickup (music))Three magnetic pickups on a Fender Stratocaster with the pickup configuration of a fat-strat (S-S-H). The bridge (right) pickup is a humbucker and the neck (left) and middle pickups are single coils. For phonograph pickup, see Magnetic cartridge. For other uses, see Pickup disambiguation page.A pickup device acts as a transducer that captures mechanical vibrations (usually from suitably equipped stringed instruments such as the electric guitar, electric bass guitar or electric violin) and converts them to an electrical signal, which can be amplified and recorded.Contents1 Magnetic pickups 1.1 Output 1.2 Pickup sound 1.3 Humbuckers 1.4 Construction 1.5 Notation 2 Piezoelectric pickups 2.1 Preamps 3 Multi-transducer pickups 3.1 Electromagnetic 4 Optical 5 Active and passive pickups 6 Stereo and multiple pickups with individual outputs 7 See also 8 Notes 9 References 10 External links // Magnetic pickupsA magnetic pickup consists of a permanent magnet such as a AlNiCo, wrapped with a coil of a few thousand turns of fine enameled copper wire. The pickup is most often mounted on the body of the instrument, but can be attached to the bridge, neck and/or pickguard, as on many electro-acoustic archtop jazz guitars. The vibration of the nearby soft-magnetic strings modulates the magnetic flux linking the coil, thereby inducing an alternating current through the coil of wire. This signal is then carried to amplification or recording equipment via a cable. There may also be an internal preamplifier stage between the pickup and cable. More generally, the pickup operation can be described using the concept of a magnetic circuit. In this description, the motion of the string varies the magnetic reluctance in the circuit created by the permanent magnet.OutputThe output voltage of pickups varies between 100 mV rms to over 1 V rms for some of the higher output types. Some high-output pickups achieve this by employing very strong magnets, thus creating more flux and thereby more output. This can be detrimental to the final sound because the magnets' pull on the strings can cause problems with intonation as well as damp the strings and reduce sustain. Other high-output pickups have more turns of wire to increase the voltage generated by the string's movement. However, this also increases the pickup's output resistance/impedance, which can affect high frequencies if the pickup is not isolated by a buffer amplifier or a DI unit.Pickup soundThe turns of wire in proximity to each other have an equivalent self-capacitance which, when added to any cable capacitance present, resonates with the inductance of the winding. This resonance can accentuate certain frequencies, giving the pickup a characteristic tonal quality. The more turns of wire in the winding, the higher the output voltage but the lower this resonance frequency. The inductive source impedance inherent in this type of transducer makes it less linear than other forms of pickups, such as piezo-electric or optical. The tonal quality produced by this nonlinearity is, however, subject to taste, and may therefore also be considered by some to be aesthetically superior to that of a more linear transducer. The external load usually consists of resistance (the volume and tone potentiometer in the guitar, and any resistance to ground at the amplifier input) and capacitance between the hot lead and shield in the guitar cable. The cable capacitance has a large effect and must not be neglected. This arrangement of passive components forms a resistively-damped second-order low-pass filter. Pickups are usually designed to feed a high input impedance, typically a megaohm or more, and a low impedance load will reduce the high-frequency response of the pickup because of the filtering effect of the inductance.HumbuckersMain article: HumbuckerPRS's Dragon humbuckerOne problem with single coil pickups is that along with the musical signal they also pick up mains hum. Mains hum consists of a fundamental signal at a nominal 50 or 60 Hz, depending on local alternating current frequency, and usually some harmonic content. The changing magnetic flux caused by the mains current links with the windings of the pickup, inducing a voltage by transformer action. To overcome this effect, the humbucking pickup was developed, concurrently and independently by Seth Lover of Gibson and Ray Butts, working for Gretsch. Who developed it first is a matter of some debate, but Seth Lover was awarded the first patent (U.S. Patent 2,896,491). Ultimately, both men developed essentially the same concept.A humbucking pickup, shown in the image on the right, generally comprises two standard pickups wired together...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about titanium aquare bar, annealed black wire, . Sipe [1] [2] The story told on various websites is that, in the 1920s, Sipe worked in a slaughterhouse and grew tired of slipping on the wet floors. He found that cutting slits in the tread on the bottoms of his shoes provided better traction than the uncut tread. The process was not applied to vehicle tires on a large scale until the 1950s, when superior tread compounds were developed that could stand up to the siping process. On roads covered with snow, ice, mud, and water, sipes usually increase traction. A US patent to Goodyear claimed sipes improve tire traction as well, and tend to close completely in the tire "footprint" on the road. A 1978 study by the US National Safety Council found siping improved stopping distances by 22 percent, breakaway traction by 65 percent, and rolling traction by 28 percent on glare ice[3].Tire tread block shapes, groove configurations, and sipes affect tire noise pattern and traction characteristics. Typically, wide, straight grooves have a low noise level and good water removal. More lateral grooves usually increase traction. Sipes are small grooves that are cut across larger tread elements. Up to a point, more sipes give more traction in snow or mud.As is often the case, there are compromises. Winter tires, and "mud and snow" tires, may have thousands of sipes and give good traction. But, they may feel "squirmy" on a warm, dry road. Treadless racing "slicks" on dry roads give maximum traction. These have no sipes, no grooves, and no tread blocks. They also have very poor traction however on even slightly wet surfaces. Tire manufacturers use different tread rubber compounds and tread designs for different tires' usages.Large sipes are usually built into the tread during manufacturing. Sipes may also be cut into the tread at a later date, called "microsiping". Bandag developed a machine for microsiping which places a curved knife blade at a slight angle on a rotating drum. The drum is placed so when it is pressed against the tread the tire is pressed into an exaggerated hollow, as if driving down a rail. The drum is lubricated and rotated and the knife makes a series of diagonal cuts across the tread. For improved traction, the tire may be siped twice, leaving diamond-shaped blocks. A significant problem with field siping is that the tread picks up rocks, glass, and other hard road debris in use, and even with thorough cleaning the knife service life is often poor.Microsiping can dramatically improve tire traction in rain and snow. However, microsiped tires may also have increased road noise and tire wear when operated on dry surfaces. Some companies such as Les Schwab however claim that microsiped tires reduce tire friction heat and tire wear and extended the life of the tire. [4]In Massachusetts in the 1970s, it was legal to operate a school bus with bald tires, provided they were double microsiped. Both Bridgestone and Michelin sell snow tires that are siped at the factory, while Saf-Tee Siping and Grooving sells machines that can sipe most standard vehicle tires. Siping can also be done by hand. Be aware that siping the tires can void the manufacturer's warranty.Note: Claims that extended life is achieved by siping may only apply to certain environments, operating temperatures and rubber compound builds.External linksSipers.com - Information page on siping Toyota Tech: Siping Tires a how-to for siping tires by hand Karl Trek: Tyre Siping Racing Tire Preparation Siping and Grooving - American Racer Tires. A few are available free on iTunes. The ads are presented in a deadpan mockumentary style, lampooning various aspects of sports, and sports broadcasting. The commercials debuted in 1994.Contents1 Guest appearances by sports figures 2 Sports practices 3 Sports mascots 4 External links // Guest appearances by sports figuresA notable feature of the commercials is the seeming ubiquity of famous athletes on the ESPN campus. Some are even depicted doing menial, everyday tasks, usually while wearing their game uniforms. Athletes often have their idiosyncrasies parodied for example, gymnast Kerri Strug being carried around ESPN headquarters because of her famous ankle injury. Many famous athletes have been featured in the series, including Andre Agassi, Ray Allen, Michael Andretti, Carmelo Anthony, Gilbert Arenas, Lance Armstrong, Paul Bearer, Rich Beem, Drew Bledsoe,King Kong Bundy, Bill Bradley, Drew Brees, Kobe Bryant, Mark Buehrle, Jennifer Capriati, Brandi Chastain, Chris Chelios, Roger Clemens (who was in 5 of them, the most of any athlete), Sidney Crosby, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Carl Edwards, Roger Federer, Kevin Garnett, Ozzie Guill, Mia Hamm, Jim Harbaugh, Evander Holyfield, Tim Hudson, LeBron James, Keyshawn Johnson, Roy Jones Jr., Jim Kelly, Alexi Lalas, Bobby Labonte, Lennox Lewis, Mark McGwire,Shawn Micheals, Gheorghe Muresan, Steve Nash, Chris Paul, Gaylord Perry, Adrian Peterson, Michael Phelps, Mary Lou Retton, Ben Roethlisberger, Tony Romo, Pete Sampras, Maria Sharapova, Andriy Shevchenko, Jerry Stackhouse, Kerri Strug, Fernando Vargas, Adam Vinateri, Shaun White, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Tiger Woods, David Wright, and The Undertaker. In one of the earliest "This is SportsCenter" commercials, Roger Clemens and Cam Neely drive around asking people, to no avail, where they can locate Sportscenter. After a very long search they finally arrive only to find out it has been closed for Chris Berman's birthday. At the ESPN offices, Stuart Scott bumps into Tiger Woods and asks about lunch, Scott replies for Tiger to meet him in the lobby at 12:30. Tiger walks away then followed by the huge crowd which usually follows him at any golf tournament he plays at. The power goes out late at night at the ESPN studios; Dan Patrick goes backstage to find the cause of the power outage: apparently Lance Armstrong has taken a break from riding his bicycle (connected to a generator). In a 1995 commercial Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann prepare to operate on Colts QB Jim Harbaugh, even though he is still awake; Harbaugh pointedly asks, "Shouldn't I be asleep for this?" In a 1996 commercial, an ESPN producer discusses a fictional trade between SportsCenter and the TV series Melrose Place, wherein Andrew Shue and Charley Steiner switch jobs; the ad features Shue at the SportsCenter desk discussing a working interview with NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue then cuts to the Melrose Place set where Steiner is cleaning the pool and enthusiastically asks one of the female cast members if she wants to rub suntan lotion on his back In a 1997 commercial Kenny Mayne and Stuart Scott run a training camp for rookies to teach them about having (what turns out to be) an arrogant attitude, yelling at a young Kobe Bryant and Keyshawn Johnson to yell out "I'm the man." Both turn in poor efforts. In a 1999 commercial aired in the midst of the Y2K fears, when the studio's electricity goes out (due to Y2K tests), amidst the ensuing mayhemhich includes Mark McGwire smashing a computer with his batharley Steiner walks away, wearing face paint and a necktie as a headband, holding a lantern and screaming, ollow me! Follow me to freedom!! In the SportsCenter studios, Rich Eisen talks with Bobby Labonte about his hair, when he sees someone doing donuts in his #18 Interstate Batteries Pontiac. Labonte screams at him, then the driver, who's actually a mascot of some sort, gets paid the damages under his nose. The hot dog eating champion Takeru Kobayashi was featured in an ad where he finishes his lunch in the ESPN cafeteria in the 30-second span of the commercial. A 2005 ad included Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger saving people from the ESPN building while the fire alarm is ringing. Stuart Scott is talking outside the building with Scott Van Pelt asking "Does he know this is a drill?" In 2006, a commercial aired which showed Danica Patrick's race car being towed from a parking spot, presumably outside SportsCenter studios, which was reserved for "D. Patrick." Shortly after, Danica runs outside after her car, only to run into Dan Patrick, one of SportsCenter's premier anchors. Some humorous debate over whose parking spot it really was...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about wifi cardsgps devices, Car Radio Cassette, . DeLonge formed Box Car Racer to experiment with and record ideas he felt were not "Blink-friendly", along with Travis Barker. David Kennedy from Hazen Street completed the trio and an eponymous album was ready to be recorded. Tom was insistent on a bass player, so he hired Anthony Celestino who was Kennedy's friend. Guests on the album included Mark Hoppus from Blink-182 on the song "Elevator", and Tim Armstrong from Rancid and Jordan Pundik from New Found Glory on "Cat Like Thief".DeLonge and Barker claim the group was heavily influenced by Dischord emo, citing influences such as Rites of Spring, Fugazi and later era post-hardcore bands such as Quicksand.Box Car Racer took a hiatus after their headlining tour in 2003. DeLonge has stated publicly that the project has served its purpose, and is now permanently defunct.Contents1 Origin of Name 2 Former Members 3 Discography 3.1 Albums 3.2 Singles 4 Videography 4.1 DVD 4.2 Music videos 5 See also 6 External links 7 References // Origin of NameTravis Barker has always liked the name Box Car Racer. Tom Delonge immediately fell in love and then later realized that it was the same name as the Japan bomber. He wasn't happy with it but DeLonge wanted to be politically correct. So he states that the band's name comes from the B-29 Bomber which dropped the second wartime atomic bomb on Nagasaki, Japan. The plane's name was "Bockscar". Tom has said in an interview[citation needed] that he had seen the name misspelled as "Boxcar", and thus, dubbed the band under that name for their music and lyrics pertaining heavily to love and war. He wanted the band to also have a three word name, another reason for the name "Box Car Racer"[citation needed].Former MembersTom DeLonge - Vocals, Guitar, Bass (2002-2003) Travis Barker - Drums, Precussion, Keyboards, Piano (2002-2003) David Kennedy - Guitar, Vocals (2002-2003) Anthony Celestino - Bass (2002-2003) DiscographyAlbumsYearTitleChart positionsSalesUSUK2002Box Car Racer Geffen Records 1227SinglesYearTitleChart PositionsAlbumUS Hot 100US Modern Rock[1]US Pop 100UK Singles Chart[2]2002"I Feel So"120841Box Car Racer2003"There Is"32a "" denotes a single did not chartVideographyDVDYearTitleLabel2002Box Car RacerGeffen RecordsMusic videosYearTitleDirector2002"I Feel So"Nathan "Karma" Cox, Tom DeLonge2003"There Is"Alexander KostaSee alsoBlink-182 Hazen Street Angels & Airwaves Transplants +44 New Found Glory Rancid Fugazi External linksOfficial Site - 'Box Car Racer' - Official Website References^ http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:3pfqxq80ldde~T51 ^ http://www.chartstats.com/artistinfo.php?id=9935 v?d?eBox Car RacerTravis Barker Anthony Celestino Tom DeLonge David KennedyStudio albumsBox Car RacerDVDsBox Car RacerSingles"I Feel So" "There Is"LabelsMCARelated articlesBlink-182 Transplants +44 Angels & Airwaves Expensive Taste Hazen Street Over My Dead BodyCategories: American alternative rock music groups Musical groups established in 2002 Musical groups disestablished in 2003 American post-hardcore musical groups Musical quartetsHidden categories: All articles with unsourced statements Articles with unsourced statements since November 2008(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about samsung portable speakers, MP3 Player Video, .
