NYSE:CSS was founded in 1923, as City Stores Company. Its headquarters is at 1845 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with showrooms in New York City, Memphis, Tennessee, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Hong Kong. The company designs, manufactures, and distributes seasonal and everyday greeting cards and novelties.City Stores Company, 1923 - 1985City Stores was a holding company, incorporated in the state of Delaware, that owned directly or indirectly all or a substantial majority of the stocks of several department and specialty stores in six states. It eventually controlled thirty nine stores in nineteen states. The stores were serviced by a New York resident buying corporation, City Stores Mercantile Company, Inc., a subsidiary wholly owned by the City Stores. In the 1950s, City Stores merged with Specialty Stores Co.City Stores started in 1923, with the acquisition of three department stores: B. Lowenstein, Inc., of Memphis, Tennessee; Maison Blanche Co., of New Orleans, Louisiana; and Loveman, Joseph & Loeb, of Birmingham, Alabama. The following year City Stores purchased Kaufman-Straus Co. of Louisville, Kentucky. In 1928, the company acquired a majority interest in Lit Brothers of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, later merging it into City Stores' operations in 1951. After going into receivership in 1931, City Stores Company could no longer meet its financial obligation to Bankers Securities Corporation (B.S.C.), the owner of Lit Brothers. Albert M. Greenfield was then installed as Chairman of the Board, a position he would hold for over 20 years. In 1944 City Stores acquired control of R.H. White, a Boston, Massachusetts department store. In 1946, the company acquired Richard Store of Miami, Florida. City Stores purchased a majority interest in two New York based women's specialty clothing stores, Oppenheim, Collins & Co. in 1945 and Franklin Simon & Co. in 1949. The two companies were later merged as Franklin Simon & Co.. The company expanded its holdings of department stores with the acquisition in 1948, of Wise, Smith & Co. of Hartford, Connecticut and Lansburgh's of Washington, D.C. in 1951.In 1961, City Stores acquired the W. & J. Sloane chain of 30 furniture stores in California, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and other states along the east coast. W. & J. Sloane purchased a 280,000-square-foot (26,000m2) building at a prime location on Fifth Avenue in New York City from Franklin Simon. In 1966, City Stores acquired Wolf & Dessauer Co. of Fort Wayne, Indiana, but sold the company in 1969, along with Kaufman-Straus to L. S. Ayres. The 1970s brought the company a large decline in sales and the need to liquidate assets. The company discontinued operations at Lansburgh's in 1973, and Lit Brothers in 1977. After several years of low profits or net losses, City Stores filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July 1979. Under the reorganization plan, City Stores closed 42 Franklin Simon & Co. stores, Hearns Department Store, and the eight Richard Stores. In 1980, Loveman, Joseph & Loeb and R.H. White department stores closed and B. Lowenstein Bros. stores were consolidated with Maison Blanche.City Stores was dismantled completely through the bankruptcy process after acquisition by Philadelphia Industries Inc. (PII). Jack Farber, president of PII, became chairman of City Stores and was elected CEO in February 1980. Farber closed or discontinued the remaining department store operations in 1982, and by 1985 liquidated the remaining assets of W. & J. Sloane.CSS Industries, Inc. 1985-CSS Industries was established by Farber in 1985, with a new name to reflect a diversified strategy. CSS completed its first acquisition in January 1985 with the purchase of Rapidforms, Inc. of Bellman, New Jersey. Rapidforms designed and manufactured a variety of business forms. It was sold in December 1997. Most of the information about the administration and government under the early Pandyas comes to use through Sangam literature.Contents1 The King and his court 2 Administration 3 Judicial system 4 Military and Warfare 5 Revenue and expenditure 6 References 7 Notes // The King and his courtThe head of the Government was the king, a hereditary monarch, who ruled with unaided discretion. The ascension to the throne was normally hereditary, sometimes through usurpation and occasionally based on unusual methods of choosing a king such as sending out the royal elephant to select a person of its choice by garlanding them. The king could be crowned at any age and reigned as long as he chose to or lived. He was highly revered by his subjects and was even equated to God. The king, in turn, had onerous duties towards his subjects and was held responsible for any misfortune that befell them. The dynastic emblem of the Pandyas was the double carp, which was used for all official purposes of royal authentication. Coins issued by the kings, seals on letters as well as exported and imported cargo stocked in the ware houses at ports bore this emblem. The king court consisted of royal officers like the ministers, generals, commanders and accountants. His power was restricted by the Aimberunguzhu (Tamil: ?????????????) or the Five Great Assemblies. They consisted of the representatives of the people, priests, physicians, astrologers and the ministers. The council of representatives (Maasanam, Tamil: ??????) safeguarded the rights and privileges of the people; the priests (Paarpar, Tamil: ??????????) directed all religious ceremonies; the physicians (Maruthar, Tamil: ????????) attended to all matters affecting the health of the king and his subjects; the astrologers (Nimithar, Tamil: ?????????) fixed auspicious times for public ceremonies and predicted important events; the ministers (Amaichar, Tamil: ????????) attended to the collection of revenue and expenditure and also the administration of justice. There was another assembly of officials that served the king called the Enberaayam (Tamil: ??????????) or the Eight Groups of Attendants. While some scholars believe it consisted of attendants on the king person like the perfumers, dressing valets, etc., others believe it consisted of more important persons like the people of the capital city, the leaders of the elephant corps and of the cavalry. The principal officers of State were the high priest, the chief astrologer, the ministers and the commanders of the army.AdministrationThe king divided his territory into a number of administrative units or principalities, each called a Koorram (Tamil: ???????). A Koorram was further divided into provinces called Mandalam, which in turn was divided into many sub-provinces called Nadus, with each Nadu consisting of many villages. A locality inside a town or village was called Ur and each neighborhood inside an Ur was called a Cheri. While the king ruled over his entire territory from the capital, he often placed one or more principalities (Koorram) under the near-sovereign government of some senior member of the royal family or a feudatary. The Cilappatikaram mentions that while Nedunj Cheliyan I ruled from Madurai, his younger brother was placed in charge of the Korkai principality. The villages that come under a principality, were each governed by the elders in the respective villages, almost autonomously. This arrangement can be roughly equated to a central government (the king), under which operated a set of feudal governments (the principalities), which in turn oversaw the local governments (the villages).Madurai, the capital city from which the king ran the central government, was large, populous and prosperous. It had a simple police and sanitation system wherein the watchmen walked the streets, lamp in hand. The streets were kept clean by fresh sand being laid, thereon. Separate cheris existed for different sections of the society like the priests, merchants etc. Hospitals and educational institutions were setup by royal order or the philanthropy of the wealthy. The village was the most fundamental unit of administration under the Pandyas. The affairs of a village were the responsibility of its elders, who were not elected but were recognized and appointed based on...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about glass kerosene lamps, LED Desk Lamp, . The Headmaster, Rev. Br Emilian Pontet then sought out land to found a new school elsewhere. After inspecting several locations, Hunters Hill was chosen due to its proximity to the Marist Fathers' Monastery and Parish of Villa Maria. On 29 July 1881, the Headmaster, Rev. Br Emilian Pontet, transferred the school from Harrington Street to Hunter's Hill, founding St Joseph's College in a temporary wooden building with a student population of 55. Within six years of its founding, keen observers had taken notice. In 1887, James Francis Hogan wrote in The Irish in Australia that:St. John's College, affiliated to the University of Sydney; St. Ignatius' College, Riverview, conducted by the Jesuit Fathers; and St. Joseph's College, Hunter Hill (sic), under the management of the Marist Fathers, are three educational institutions that reflect the highest credit on the Catholic population of the parent colony.CampusCollege gatesThe College opened in 1881 in a temporary wooden building, however, it has continued to expand its grounds and buildings since then. Some examples are the construction of the main building's southern wing in 18821884; the building of the central and northern wing in 18891894 and the building of the Chapel in 19381940. The College's main playing fields were bought in 1893.Today the College is situated on a 16hectare campus overlooking the Lane Cove and Parramatta Rivers, in suburban Hunter's Hill, sixkilometres from the Sydney central business district. It was the successor to the Philadelphia Aquarium established in the City of Philadelphia in 1911, closed in 1962 that was built along the Schuylkill River using the river as a water source.During Aquarama's existence in the 1960s it made quite a splash in family entertainment. Aquarama was in some ways like an aquarium, and in other ways like a circus. Fish of every size, shape and color would swim endlessly around its giant circular glass tank, trained seals would honk out ow Dry I Am on a set of bulb horns, and several times a day dolphins would rescue a clown after he lost his balance and belly flopped into Aquarama indoor pool.It had an three-story tank in the center of the front entrance plaza. A ramp with a railing encircled the center tank so people could walk around, perusing the aquatic contents. Along the wall were many smaller aquariums filled with exotic fish, other aquatic life and included a porpoise tank. In addition to the exhibition there was a water arena that included performances of porpoises, staring whales "Willie and Winky" and aquatic events. An outdoor area had open pools for other displays of seasonal exhibits and a place for visitors to meander and wander but the area was poorly maintained.Billing itself as he Theater of the Sea, Aquarama opened its doors in 1962 on South Broad Street, across from where Veterans Stadium would stand a decade later and the 2003 re-invented expanded South Philadelphia Sports Complex. Following the show, patrons could wander out into the concession area and spend their spare change on souvenirs, or on watching chickens, ducks and small animals perform tricks in tiny coin-operated booths.By the late 1960s, however, Philadelphians began to tire of Aquarama. After only 7 years of existence, Philadelphia heater of the Sea quietly disappeared and was demolished in 1969.Points of InterestPoints of interest evolved for both radio and TV broadcasting. Before the "Voice of the Flyers" was indeed that, the late Gene Hart was an announcer and an assistant public relations director for the Aquarama. When Philadelphia landed an NHL ice hockey franchise, Hart submitted some audition tapes and got the job, but he still worked full-time for the aquarium, according to the Flyers Web site. The front entrance plaza was a great public space approriate for High School Proms (as South Philadelphia High School) and weddings. Well-known radio and television personality Ed Hurst originated a live teenage dance telecast from the Aquarama on Saturday afternoons using the open spaces with the undersea theme as a background. "Ed Hurst at Aquarama" aired on Channel 3, said WHYY-TV personality/producer Ed Cunningham. Hurst reminisced about his old aquatic haunt for WHYY-TV Channel 12's popular series "More Things That Aren't There Anymore," which Cunningham produced. This Pennsylvania state location article is a stub. There were no injuries. A security camera shows the bomber riding a bicycle as he approaches the station, dismounting the bomb, and then speeding off shortly before the blast.New York City police has yet to identify the perpetrator. Because of their similarities, investigators have suggested the bombing may be linked to past New York City bombings done in front of the Mexican Consulate in 2007 and in the British Consulate in 2005. A letter sent to Congress with the words "we did it" was originally thought to be connected to the bombing, but ended up being completely unrelated to the incident. Investigators have also suspected the bombing may be related to an incident on the Canadian/US border in February 2008. Pictures of Times Square and anarchist-type material were found in a car that was randomly stopped by the police.Contents1 Incident 2 Investigation 2.1 Bicycle 2.2 Letters 3 Possible connection to past incidents 3.1 Similarities to past bombings 3.2 Canadian border incident 4 Response 5 Notes // IncidentMedia gathers after the bombingThe bombing took place at around 3:43 a.m in front of a United States armed forces recruiting station in Times Square. A security camera mounted at 1501 Broadway shows an individual riding a bicycle eastbound on 38th Street and Madison Avenue. He headed toward the recruiting center, putting himself out of camera view. He then placed an improvised explosive device in front of the building, and left the area on a bicycle, reappearing on camera. The bomber was seen riding a bicycle wearing gray hooded jacket and a backpack. The bomber was described as a "large" man. Retired New York City detective Ray Pierce suggested he may be a bicycle messenger, noting the "comfortable" way he is seen riding his bicycle. He also described the bomber and being a young, "frustrated" individual, who is trying to send a "confusing" message. Because of the low-powered explosive and the attack coming in the early morning hours, Pierce has suggested that the bomber is more likely trying to send a message, rather than hurting anyone.Kelly described the bomb as "low-order explosive" and "not a particularly sophisticated device" contained in a military-style ammunition box.InvestigationBicycleA 1980s blue 10-speed Ross bicycle was found by construction workers in a dumpster located on East 38th Street, a few blocks from the bombing. Unaware of the bombing, several of the workers rode around in the bicycle, which made it harder for investigators to obtain fingerprints. After they heard about the bombing, they turned the bicycle over to the police. Investigators believed that the bicycle was the one used by the bomber. Fingerprints lifted from the bicycle ended up having "no value" in figuring out the identity of the bomber. New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly stated "I don't think anyone was seen leaving the bike". Investigators hoped that the public would be able to focus on the biked up to a month after the bombing occurred. The bicycle was manufactured and sold in the 1980s at a store called "Yonkers Cycle Center" located in Westchester County, New York. The store has since been closed down and the owner has passed away. Investigators believed the bicycle may have recently exchanged owners, as one investigator stated "someone may have sold it as a yard sale". Investigators believe the bicycle was stored indoors for most of the time.LettersHours after the bombing, Democratic Party members of Capital Hill received letters that contained the words "Happy New Year, We did it" and a picture of a man standing in front of the Times Square recruiting center. The letters also included a 32 page anti-Iraq War statement. The letters were sent in 5 inch-by-8 inch manila envelopes with two $1 stamps and a white label. Because each letter was numbered, investigators believed over 100 letters were mailed out. Recipients of the letters were warned not to open them and to notify police. Investigators originally believed the letters were connected with the bombing, but were proved to be completely unrelated to the incident and a coincidence. The letters were mailed by David Karnes, a Los Angeles area lawyer and anti-war protester. The term can refer to the act of modifying a piece of hardware or software or anything else for that matter, to perform a function not originally conceived or intended by the designer. The term modding is often used within the computer game community, particularly in regard to creating new or altered content and sharing that via the web. It may also be applied to the overclocking of computers in order to increase the frequency at the which the CPU operates. Case modding is also a popular activity amongst many computer enthusiasts which involves the customization of a computer chassis or the installation of water cooling technology. In connection with automobiles, modding often refers to engine tuning, remapping of a vehicles Engine Control Unit or customization the bodywork.Contents1 Computers and digital equipment 1.1 Legal issues 1.1.1 Multi-user licensing 1.1.2 Derivative software 1.2 Video game consoles 1.3 Cheating 1.3.1 Types of modding 1.4 Game software 1.5 Device drivers 1.6 Computer hardware 2 Cars and vehicles 2.1 Orthopedic 2.2 Eco-modding 2.3 Performance tuning 3 Industrial machines 4 See also // Computers and digital equipmentLegal issuesModding may sometimes infringe the legal rights of the copyright owner. Some nations have laws prohibiting modding and accuse modders of attempting to overcome copy protection schemes. In the United States, the DMCA has set up stiff penalties for modding. In the European Union, member states have agreed the EU Copyright Directive and are transposing it into national law. A man was convicted in the United Kingdom in July 2005 for selling a modded Xbox with built in software and games. However it is also worthy of note that some other European states have not interpreted the legal issues in the same way. In Italy a judge threw out a Sony case saying it was up to owners of a console what they did with it. Similarly in Spain, mod chips are seen as legal despite the EU copyright legislation.Multi-user licensingComputer systems, hardware, and software are often sold or licensed to one home machine, to a business that has many computers, a government agency, or a non-profit organization. When the software license says that it is for a specific person, then it is not legal for that software to be used by some other person on that same computer, even a member of the same family, or another employee of the same company. But this strict licensing is only one approach. In this form of licensing, for more than one person to be using that software or hardware, they need to have a multi-user license that usually dictates how many different people may use it.Derivative softwareSome software is licensed with a copy of the program source code supplied along with the executable code in which the license specifically authorizes changes to the supplied software. This is a common standard in business software packages. Hundreds of thousands of computer programmers in some nations have jobs because businesses want the purchased software tailored to the specific needs of the individual businesses. Most every major city has want ads in the newspaper where there are job openings for people to modify some company's computer systems, where the ad specifies what programming languages or operating systems the applicant needs to know.[citation needed]Derivative software is licensed copyrighted software used in whole or part in new programs written by programmers at businesses using the licensed software. Programmers copy the copyright notices into the source code where the code was copied, and track all such places, because if the license is permitted to expire, then the business loses software use rights, including any place to which it was copied. An annual fee is typically paid to keep the license in effect, and over time, the software supplier can increase the fees to the point that the business chooses to convert to some other commercial software that seems to be more cost effective. It is not unusual in business software to find programs that have many different copyright notices, each referring to different sources of the derived source code.Video game consolesA common example of one kind of modding is video game console mod chips, which can allow users to play homemade games, games legitimately purchased in other regions, or legal backup copies, but can also allow illegal unauthorized copies by allowing the player to play personally-recorded CD or DVD copies of video games. Modchips, in their current form, were first available for the Sony PlayStation (and later the Playstation 2). Various other types of copyright circumvention systems also existed for the Nintendo 64 and the older Game Boy consoles (though...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about sealed beam bulb, Full Spectrum Bulb, . The Plains Indians wore hard-sole moccasins, given that their territorial geography featured rock and cacti. The eastern Indian tribes wore soft-sole moccasins, for walking in leaf-covered forest ground.Contemporary useToday, moccasins usually are part of a Native American regalia, e.g. a powwow suit of clothes. The most common style is that of the Plains Indian moccasin. In New Zealand and Australia sheep shearers' moccasins are constructed of a synthetic, cream-coloured felt, with a back seam and gathered at the top of the rounded toe. These moccasins are laced in the front, and the lacing is covered with a flap fastened with a buckle at the shoe's outer side. The fastener arrangement prevents the shearer's handpiece comb from catching in the laces. Shearers' moccasins protect the feet, grip wooden floors well, and absorb sweat. The word moccasin might also denote a shoe of leather or of faux leather adorned with laces; recently, the moccasin shoe has resurged as a popular form slipper shoe for women and men.Famous Mocassin wearers include Boy George, Will Young, Dider Drogba and Dermot Moran.See alsoLoafer References^ moccasin: definition, usage and pronunciation - YourDictionary.com ^ Online Etymology Dictionary ^ moccasin - Definitions from Dictionary.com ^ Retrieved on 10 November 2008 ^ Sheep parasites Retrieved on 10 November 2008 External linksThe Canadian Museum of Civilization - Moccasins Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa - Moccasins Creek - Seminole moccasins v?d?eFootwearMen's dress shoesBrogues Derbies Loafers Court shoes Monks Oxfords Venetian style shoes WinklepickersWomen's dress shoesBallet flats Court shoes (Pumps) Loafers Slingbacks Mules Mary Janes Mojari Saddle shoes Venetian style shoes WinklepickersOther shoesFlip-flop Galoshes Geta Moccasins Platform shoes Sandals Slides SlippersMilitary footwearAmmunition boots Cold weather boots Combat boots Jackboots Jump boots Jungle boots Tanker boots Trench bootsSport-related footwearAthletic shoes Ballet shoes Climbing shoes Cycling shoes Football boots Hiking boots Ice skates Inline skates Mountaineering boots Riding boots Motorcycle boots Roller skates Ski boots Skate shoes SwimfinsFashion bootsBeatle boots Chelsea boots Knee-high boots Go-go boots Platform bootWork boots/shoesAustralian work boots Chukka boot Cowboy boot Hip boot Rigger boot Steel toe boots WadersOther bootsMukluk Valenki Wellington bootsHistoricalBuskin Chopine Clog Galesh Hessian Hwa Opanak PoulaineCategories: Shoes Native American clothing Algonquian loanwordsHidden categories: Wikipedia articles incorporating text from the 1911 Encyclop?dia Britannica(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about customized adidas shoes, 4us men???s shoes, . Furniture was a British pop band, active from 1979 to 1991 and best known for their 1986 Top 30 hit "Brilliant Mind".
Since its break-up, the band has retained a certain cult appeal - partly due to the high quality of the songwriting and partly due to the band's career (noted for the bad luck and practical frustration that prevented them from making a long term-breakthrough). Several ex-members are notable for (variously) going on to form Transglobal Underground, becoming high-profile British music journalists, or contributing to the writing of several underground dance hits.

Overview
The longest-serving line-up of Furniture, from 1983-1990, comprised Jim Irvin (vocals, percussion, occasional keyboards), Tim Whelan (vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards, yangqin etc.) and Hamilton Lee (drums, tuned and untuned percussion), Sally Still (bass, vocals) and Maya Gilder (keyboards). Larry Nzone (saxophone) - the brother of Tim Whelan -was an occasional member during this period and often appeared with the band live.
Furniture chief success was in the UK but they also enjoyed a following throughout Eastern Europe where they toured in 1987 and 1988.
History
Formation
Furniture was formed in the Ealing area of London, England by Jim Irvin, Tim Whelan and Hamilton Lee. Simon Beaton (guitar) and Ian Macdonald (bass) joined shortly afterwards, and together Furniture played their first gig in 1979.
In 1981 Furniture released their first single, "Shaking Story"/"Take A Walk Downtown" on the band own independent record label (The Guy From Paraguay). Shortly afterward, Macdonald and Beaton left the band. Furniture remained a trio until new members Sally Still and Maya Gilder joined in 1983. Larry N'Azone also joined as a part-time member.
In 1981, Tim Whelan joined The Transmitters as lead vocalist. He would remain in The Transmitters until 1989 but would continue working with Furniture at the same time. (Hamilton Lee would also divide his time between Furniture and The Transmitters during 1988 and 1989).
Record deals
In 1983, Furniture released a mini-album entitled When the Boom Was On, on the Premonition imprint of the Ealing-based Survival record label.
Switching to the main label in spring 1984, they released their first single, "Dancing the Hard Bargain", produced by former Blue Zoo member, Tim Parry. This was followed in December by "Love Your Shoes", produced by Troy Tate (former guitarist for The Teardrop Explodes). A self-produced EP - "I Can't Crack" - followed in the summer of 1985. Much of the material on these releases was collected on a 1986 LP on Survival, called The Lovemongers.
In 1986 the band switched to Stiff Records and released the single "Brilliant Mind", which peaked at number 21 in the UK Singles Chart. "Brilliant Mind" is the band most popular song. It has since featured on many 1980s compilation albums, and as TV incidental music (eg "World Shut Your Mouth" for the character with the cymbals). It is still played regularly on British radio and is a staple of BBC 6 Radio. Singer Boy George has named "Brilliant Mind" his favourite record of the '80s. A re-recorded version of "Brilliant Mind" featured in the John Hughes film, Some Kind of Wonderful.

The Wrong People (1986)
The band's follow-up, a re-recorded version of the earlier single "Love Your Shoes" was a radio hit, but fell foul of a financial crisis at Stiff Records, who couldn't afford to press enough records to match demand. Advance orders for the album The Wrong People were fulfilled with a single pressing of 30,000 copies, which sold out quickly. Stiff Records went into liquidation shortly afterwards and was sold to ZTT, who pressed no further copies of the album, ensuring that Furniture could not build on their growing momentum.
The band spent three years extricating themselves from the Stiff contract. During this time they toured the world with the assistance of the British Council, playing shows in Egypt, Jordan, Cyprus, Turkey, Romania, Greece, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia in 1987 and 1988.
In 1989 the band signed to...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about replica tennis shoes, Leather Women Shoes, . The Athletic Shoes products should be show more here!

Production Processes: Overview
MSC iron ore (raw material) comes from mines in Golgohar and Chadermaloo (Kerman and Yazd provinces) and are converted to pellets in the Pelletizing Plant (diameters: 8-10 mm). After being reduced in the Direct Reduction (DR) Plant and removed of oxygen, pellets are converted to (sponge iron). Sponge iron and iron scrap is melted in electric arc furnaces, after which liquid steel is purified in secondary purification units. The steel chemical compound is designed by customer demand. Then, it transported to casting machines for slab production. After cooling, slab is rolled at the Hot Rolling mill, creating hot coils (thickness: 1.5-16mm). Some are sold; other go to the Hot finishing mill for complementary work and hot sheet transformation or the cold rolling mill to lower strip thickness to 0.18mm. Coldrolled coils are also dedicated for the Tinning, Galvanizing, and prepainting lines.
Iron Plant Complex
The Iron Plant Complex has 10 main production line units (the rest are auxiliary and back up units). Iron ores with large grains from Golgohar are converted by ball mills in the Pelletizing plant. After mixing with Chadermalou's smaller grains and bentonite in blending machines it's changed to pellets (diameter: 6-25 mm) and screened by a two-story roller screen. Pellets solidify in an induration tunnel or furnace at 1280 C. The Lime Production Plant receives limestone from the Hozmahi mine, which is then calcinated in two rotary kilns at 780-1050 C. After screening, calcinated lime may be used in the Lime Plant, consumed in the Palletizing Plant, Briquet Unit or for industrial water production.
At the Direct Reduction plant, pellets are charged in Midrex? [1] shaft furnaces after misco-grain screening (less than 5mm). Two reducing gases (derived from cracking natural gas or methane, consisting of Co and H2) are injected into the furnace, combine with oxygen from the pellets resulting in CO2+H2O. Without oxygen, pellets become sponge irons. After screening, sponge irons are transferred to the Steel Plant. Sponge irons with a diameter less than 5 mm go to the briquet unit to produce briquets (diameter above 25 mm). Then, they are transferred to the Steel Plant with the sponge iron.
Steel Making and Continuous Casting Plant
The Steel Making & Continuous Casting Plant has eight electric arc furnaces receiving sponge iron and other additives. They are melted with about 15% scrap in the furnace, which has a capacity of 180-200 tons. The plant also has four (to be increased to eight in current revamping) ladle furnaces and one (to be doubled) degassing vessel, used to adjust the final chemical mix and purity, as well as adjusting casting temperature. Additionally, there are four continuous slab casting machines, each having two arc casting strands (radius: 10.5 m). They produce the plant final product, called slabs. These slabs are 10 m in length, 20 cm in thickness and 65-188 cm (adjustable) width. Slab production capacity is 4,200,000 t/yr (revamping year 2000), to be increase in steps to 5,400,000 and 7,200,000 MTPY. Slabs are manually cooled and scrafed in the Slab Cooling & Conditioning plant.

The entrance to Camp Yawgoog

The Kelley Environmental Education Center
In 1916 Scout Executive Donald North, after inspecting some twenty lakes in Rhode Island, recommended the deserted Joseph Palmer farm property on Yawgoog Pond as a permanent reservation for Scouting. The 150-acre (0.6km2) piece was leased to Rhode Island Boy Scouts (RIBS) in 1916 and purchased in 1917. Yawgoog and Wincheck, according to local tradition, were the names of two Narragansett Indian Chiefs. The water rights to the pond, all of their equipment, fourteen mill houses, a store, and approximately 200-acre (1km2) of unimproved land were obtained in 1953 when the Boy Scouts purchased a controlling interest in the Yawgo Line and Twine Company. [2] The reservation continues to be separately owned by RIBS even after its acquisition by BSA. Chief Yawgoog serves as the mascot for the camp. He is usually portrayed in a cartoon, shirtless, wearing leather Indian trousers and mocassins, smoking a calumet, holding a canoe over himself and appears as if he is about to set off canoeing.
Yawgoog is also responsible for creating the first Totin' Chip program. John Page, nicknamed "Johnny Appleseed," created the program in 1950. Six years later, in 1956, the Apprentice in Training (AIT) program was started in an effort to better train incoming staffmen. The AIT corps, the first of its kind, was later renamed the Counselor in Training (CIT) corps and set the standard for subsequent programs across the country. [3]
The reservation is divided into three distinct camps. Each camp operates independently and has a dining hall, waterfront, and trading post. Originally, however, Yawgoog campers set up tents as part of one centralized camp on what is now Tim O'Neil Field. In 1924, Yawgoog was divided between Upper Camp and Lower Camp, and three camps eventually emerged. Yawgoog is normally active during the summer for eight weeks of operation. During the off season tent camping is allowed at various campgrounds and cabin camping is allowed in any of the four cabins available. These spaces are available for troops who wish perform outdoor events when summer camp is not in session.
Landscape

The Ashaway Aquatics Center
Yawgoog is located in the southwestern corner of Rhode Islandhe closest town Hopkinton, RI, which sits at 41.44N -71.79W. The terrain of the reservation is fairly flat, with only one hill (Hill 407) located in the southwestern corner of the reservation. Most of the reservation is forested and consists of deciduous and evergreen trees. On May 4-6, 1930, the camp suffered a forest fire. Much of the forest was destroyed and subsequently replaced with white pines due to their ability to grow quickly. Remnants of the fire are unnoticeable today. There are several islands on Yawgoog Pond, the largest named King Phillips.[citation needed] Flushable toilets are currently being installed, first at Medicine Bow, then Three Point, and finally at Sandy Beach. Moreover, for 2008, the Yawgoog Alumni Association hopes to raise enough funds to replace each camps' amphitheater as well as replacing the aging the single shot riffles[4]
The following are some notable places at Yawgoog: The George Bucklin Memorial (a replica of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police barracks; administration), The Donald North Court, The Yawgoog Heritage Center (contains artifacts from throughout Yawgoog's history), Tim O'Neill Field (has large flagpole that serves in a dress parade every Sunday at the conclusion of each week of camp), the three camp waterfronts (each having three swimming zones: 0 to 3-foot (91cm), 3-foot (91cm) to 7-foot (213cm), 7-foot (213cm) to 12-foot (366cm)), and the A.
